The Townhouses - Survival Day (2011 Version)
An updated version of my track ‘Invasion Day’. Merely just a live version. After discussing it with a friend, and I’ve come to prefer the term Survival Day. It’s more a positive celebration of the fact that Western European society hasn’t completely destroyed traditional Aboriginal culture. If there’s something to celebrate today… it’s that.
There’s a long way to go to true reconciliation - but if people can spend today appreciating a beautiful piece of land instead of a westernized form of bigotry… then that’s something I guess.
